The Franklin Power Board met this afternoon, the chairman, Mr. J. Dean,, presiding. _ The board decided to join in a publicity campaign, as approved and outlined bv the Power Boards' Association, to promote the wider electricity over the whole of the Dominion, the cost to the board being £lOl 13s, spread over three years, and the total amount to be raised for the campaign to be £20,000, the Government finding £3OOO, the power boards £3OOO, and the electrical trading firms £4OOO. The campaign is to occupy three years.
Tenders for group wiring contracts were accepted as follows Happy Valley. Messrs. Barker and Wills. £251 Is: Grey Street, Pukekohe, Mr. H. T. Moore, £63 9s. - The engineer, Mr- L. G. Sharp, reported that tlie erection of the Te Toro line had been started, and the Te Toro group installations should be completed before the holidays. The wiring on the Kappy Valley line would be commenced this week. Survey and plans had been made for the Happy Vailey-Paparimu line. A canvass was made of the Te * Hihi district and was expected to be completed this week. A payable load was now offer. at Hunua as the outcome oit the efforts of "a local committee, following the meeting of settlers addressed by representatives of the board. The board authorised the construction of the Hunua line.
