SWIMMING.
POSTPONEMENT OP CARNIVAL
Owing to the unfavourable weather conditions the "Waitemata Amateur Swimming Club postponed its oarnival, whioh was to have been held at the Tepid Baths last evening. The oarnival will be held on Christmas Day, subject to the approval of the Auokland Swimming Centre.
AUCKLANDER AT NELSON,
The well-known Auokland distance swimmer, R. J. Webster, is at present in Nelson, where he is reported to be training with a view to making another attempt on the Cook Strait swim next month.
AUSTRALIANS AT NAPIER.
A VICTORY FOR GRIFFITHS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, Tuesday.
The Australian swimmers Griffiths and Ryan appeared at a carnival in Napier tonight. Ryan took part in the 220 yds handicap and finished in second place. His lime was Qm 325. Griffiths won the 100 yds handicap by a touch, after a thrilling fiuish. His time was 56 4-ss.
