DANGEROUS DRIVING.

MOTORIST OF 70 YEARS.

COLLISION WITH CYCLIST.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Friday: "It seems that defendant's advancing years are impairing his ability to drive a car," said Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court today, in convicting Thomas Shaw, farmer, Tauwhare, aged 70 years, of dangerous driving. The offence was admitted. The traffic inspector, Mr. P. A. Courtney, said defendant's car collided with a cyclist at the corner of Victoria and Knox Streets, Hamilton. Defendant failed to apply his brakes and carried the cyclist 60ft. before the car was pulled up. The cyclist was bruised and his machine was smashed. Defendant was fined £l, and his licence was suspended for six months
