OTAHUHU BOROUGH.

NIGHT STREET LIGHTING

The Otahuhu Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. H. T. Clements, presiding. After a discussion on the question of providing all-night street lighting, it was decided to write,to the Auckland Elec-tric-Power Board inquiring the amount of the extra cost involved in making a change! The council decided not to purchase a property at the corner of Prince's Road and Panmure Road submitted for streetwidening purposes. An offer from an Auckland firm to lay a section of a borough street with a tar mixture as a demonstration was declined. It was decided not to be associated with the regional town-planning scheme which is being considered by local authorities in the district.
