UNIVERSITY VACATIONS.
Sir,—Can any educational authority give an explanation for such a long vacation given our university students? Lome it appears to be ridiculous *and most unfair to the students themselves that they should be away from ttf&ir studies for 16 or 14 weeks. Perhaps we are following tho antiquated English universities legarding vacations. If so, it is time we had a change, and, instead of trying to cram all the study into a few weeks, have it spread over a longer period. Perhaps the Education Commission might investigate the present system. J.N.I.
