RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA.
PROTEST BY CONSERVATIVES.
DIFFERENCES OF OPINION.
LONDON. Nov. 22
At tho conference of the Conservative Party, Sir Alfred Knox seconded Commander Locker-Lampson's motion of protest against tho resumption by Britain of relations with the Soviet until Russia ceases propaganda work and pays her debts.
Sir Alfred said the agreement with the Soviet was known as the "White Hart" agreement, because it was negotiated at an inn of that name. But it should bo called the "White Feather" treaty.
There were heated scenes and cries of,
"Are you an Englishman ?" when Commander Arthur Marsden said Russia owed him money, but it was not common sonso to say and do nothing until Russia paid her debts. Ho was prepared to support the motion if it only objected to tho recognition of tho Soviet until guarantees to refrain from propaganda wore provided.
The motion was carried. Another motion opposed the evacuation of Egypt and tho abandonment of Imperial preferences.
