FIRE AT RAMARAMA.

SIX-ROOMED HOUSE BURNED*

A six-roomed house, standing on a farm property at Ramarama, was totally, destroyed by fire shortly after five o'clock on 1 Friday afternoon, the only contents saved being a piano, a gramophone and some bedding. The property wis owned by Mrs. I. D. Otway, who was ia Auckland at the time.

Mrs. Otway's son and a farmhand were some distance away on the farm when the outbreak was noticed, and they at. once made an attempt to check the flames. A number of passing motorists on the Great South. Road gave assistance, bub in the absence of a water supply it was impossible to save the structure, tha flames spreading to an outhouse.
