The Henderson branch of tho Women's Christian Tempcranco Union -held its annual meeting in tho PresbytCiian Church yesterday afternoon, the president, Mrs. F. G. Piatt, presiding. Tho secretary reported that in accordance with tho conditions settled by tho Henderson School Committee a ballot of parents had been taken on tho proposal to give religious instruction to the children in the local school and the proposal had been carried by a majority of 51, tho voting being:~-For, GO; against, 39. Essays had been received from school children competing in the annual tempcranco essay competition. A judge had been appointed and a social arranged, at which the prizes would bo presented. Mrs. Cook, Dominion superintendent of the Bible-in-Kchools League, gave a short address on tho valuo of tho Biblo in the education of children. Tho treasurer reported that she had a small balance in hand and 18s had boon received for tho million shilling fund. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mrs. F. G. Piatt; vice-presidents, Mrs. C. E. Perkins and Miss Duncan; secretary, Mrs. T. McKay; treasurer, Mrs W. G Williams; cradle roll superintendent, Mrs. Elcoat; white ribbon agent, Miss K. Duncan.
