MASONIC GRAND LODGE.
THIS WEEK'S GATHERING.
PRESENTATION TO GOVERNOR
Usually, the interest in the annual communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand centres in the personality of the grand master to be installed. In connection with the largo gathering to be held in Auckland on Wednesday, there will be a doubled personal interest, in that besides the hailing of a newlyelected head of the institution, the Craft has to bid farewell to one of the most popular grand masters of its history, in His Excellency Sir Charles Fergusson, on the eve of his return to Britain.
An important part of the installation gathering on Wednesday evening will bo the valedictory proceedings, a feature of which will be a presentation to His Excellency in recognition of his services to the New Zealand Constitution in the last four years.
The reports which will be presented at the legislation session will indicate further progress of tho institution, in respect of numerical and financial strength and practical usefulness, and some proposals for amendment of constitution are to be considered. Colonel George Barclay, who, as grand secretary, is the executive head of grand lodge, is already in Auckland, and the presidents of the administrative boards and other leading Freemasons will arrive from Dunedin within the next two days.
