GREAT CROWD AT EUSTON. MISSION OF WORLD PEACE. British Wireiese. ETTG-BY. Nov. 1. The Prime Minister, Mr. Eamsay MacDonald. arrived at, Liverpool this morning. He was greeted by the Lord Mayor and the Earl of Derby and then left by special train for London. He issued the following statement to the press. " Mv- visit to the United States and Canada has given me great satisfaction. I believe sincerely that my conversations with the President of the United States. Mr. Hoover, and other American statesmen hare brought our two peoples much closer together and improved their mutual understanding. They have also, I .im convinced, paved the way to more effectual co-operation with the other Powers in the maintenance of peace in the world.
" Strong in this conviction I feel that so far the purpose of my mission has been fulfilled and that the way is now cleared for the neiit step.
" The exchange of views I had with Mr. Mackenzie King. Prime Minister of Canada, about my mission to the United States and about Imperial affairs was also most advantageous and timely. I hroughout mv visit I endeavoured to voice what I believe to be the peace] ui aspirations of tile British people in ail parts of the Empire. I met with nothing but the most welcome response. '
The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the British, American and Canadian press which, he said, had been almost uniformly helpful to the ends he had in view. He also thanked others who bad helped to facilitate ins work and that of his colleagues-
Llr. Mac Donald was welcomed at East on station amid scenes. iz.c had to force his way through the crowd. He said his mission to America was in no way hostile to M. Briaud's conception of" a United States of Europe.
