CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD.
CABINET APPROVES GRANT.

There has been a quick rMponw to the request of the Wang tnui Airport Committee, which telegraphed to the Hon. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Transport, yesterday, stating that citizensi were becoming restive and mrginj;; thai; the Cabinet should approve the application rwide'to the Government to undertake tho con-, struction of the road to the proposed airport site on Landgua.rd Bluff. To-day tho Mayor, Mr.' W. Rogers, received the following telegram [rom Mr. Veitch:— "Further to my teligram of yerterday, I am now pleased to nrtviaci you that'l was successful to-day in' obtaining the approval of the Cabinet to a vote of £2300 being made to 'tho Wnnganui County Council for <:onstroption of the road to the airport site at Land guard Bluff."
