i THEFT OF CHEQUES ALLEGED

Charges of stealing two cheques for tho sums of £1 7s 6d,and £2 5s 6d, the property of Joseph Thomas Clement and Hazel Lily Violet Townsend respectively, were preferred against Herbert William Taylor, aged 30, a photographer, in tile Police Court yesterday. Accused asked for a remand in order that the Rev. Jasper Calder should bo present, and the case was adjourned until this morning.
