MAN MISSING IN BUSH.
ANXIETY. FOR HIS SAFETY.
INVESTIGATION BY POLICE.

TAUMARUNUI, Monday
Concern is felt for tho welfare of Mr. Thomas Herbert Henderson, who left Taumarunui for Otukou, Tongariro, last Monday evening by a route through tho bush up tho Pungapunga Valley. Ho was riding a horse and leading another. Nothing was heard of Mr. Henderson until Thursday, when Mr. A. Johnston, of Taumarunui, received a telegram from him from Bennett's Camp at Pungapunga to the effect that ho was delayed but expected to arrive at Otukou the same day. A message was also received from a native who stated that ho went about halfway through the bush as a guide with the missing man. Mr. Henderson then said ho could carry on alone and tho Maori returned to Bennett's Camp.
Nothing further has been heard of Mr. Henderson, and so far he has not reached Otukou. The police at Taumarunui and Tokaanu aro investigating.
