THE METHODIST CIRCUIT.

[by telegraph.—-own correspondent.] MORRINSVILLE, Friday. The Morrinsville Borough Council last evening decided to open the swimming baths for-the season on Labour Day, October. 28. ' A recommendation is to be made to tho Fire Brigade to bring in the ward system of fire alarm. An application for a kerbside pump was referred to the Works Committee. Several members of the council spoke against the application, as the majority of the pumps have now boon romoved, and other applications refused. A, special committee was sot up to report on the traffic question at intersections. Special reference was made to Park and Thomas Streets, and Stndholmo atid' Anderson Streots, where a fatality occurred /recently. The engineer reported that, tho chlorinating plant at the headwprks of the water supply was now working satisfactorily. Special bus stands were, defined in Thames Street. There was a representative gathering at tho quarterly, meeting of the Methodist Church, held at Morrinsville, the Rev.. E. E. Sago presiding. Tho balance-sheet rovealecl a satisfactory position. A unanimous invitation was confirmed to the Rev. F. G, Brown, of Mhtainata, to succeed tllo Rev. E. E, Sage as superintendentminister next year. • " Appreciative reference was made to; the. splondid work done by the Rev,. A. T. Kent at the Waitoa end of the circuit, and he was unanimously invite'd to remain a second year. Messrs. G. Hanna, the 'Mayor, and G. H. Thorndell were roceived as local preachers on trial, Messrs. F. .West, G. F. Oates and G. o._ Seaby were'appointed os lay representatives to: synod at Cambridge in November.
