A splash and a scream disturbed the peaco of the park. To their horror the pooplo sitting round the lake saw a man disappear beneath the surface. Then came a cheer as one of the onlookers stripped ofl his coat and dived in after tho drown ing ono. The victim rose for tho third time as the hero approached him. "Don't roscuo mo!" ho spluttered. " I'm committing suicide. I don't want to live." But the other refusod fo turn back. S' I'm borry/' he eaid. You'll have to postpone it until another day. I'm'dead keen on- jrinning a life-saving medal.'.'
