HONOUR TO COOK.

A FRENCH BIOGRAPHY.

"THE GREATEST NAVIGATOR." LONDON. Oct. 8. The latest addition to the literature of Captain Cook is a lively biography, translated from the French of Maurice Thiery. His Australian exploration is briefly described in a chapter which ends: " A new jewel has been added to the Crown of England." Thiery mentions how Australia and Britain honoured Cook, and adds: " All peoples are associated in these tributes, and hail Captain Cook as the greatsst navigator of the world,. because across seas and frontiers they understand that the great English sailor was one of those of whom humanity is proud."
