LADIES' EVENING.
Decorated with masses of greenery and hanging baskets of fern, the lown Kail concert chamber presented an attractive appearance yesterday when the. Auckland Municipal Officers' Social Club held a Ladies' Evening. The entrance to the hall was flanked with bamboo foliage in low green tubs, and baskets of fern wero suspended at intervals from the gallery, as also were gay flags. A bright note of colour was given by the Royal bluf and white streamers, which wero hung from a centrepiece in the hall and looped across to the wall. Beside.? dancing, an enjoyable programme was given, those contributing items being: Miss 51. Free, who recited; Mr. R. Richards, who sang: Mi?s J. K. Morris, and Mr. F. Easson. who gave exhibitions of the quickstep and modern waltz. Orchestral numbers by Miss A. Clarke's band were also greatly appreciated. Among those who wero present were: Mr, and Mrs. J. B. Paterson, the latter wearing a frock of raven's wing blue crepe fleuri and lace; Miss Alice Basten, in rose pink embroidered chiffon; Miss Basten, almond green beaded georgette; Mr. F. N. Bartram; Miss Bartram, who was in shell pink georgette Mr. and Mrs. Barr, the latter wearing black georgette; Mr. J. Bennett and Mrs. Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Pearson, Mr. and Mrs, Ashley, Mrs. Christie, Mrs. J. Dive, Miss Maguire, Miss D. Scarr, Miss Lundon, Miss M. Keelev, Miss Bland, Miss Roberts, Miss B.
