WELLINGTON LADIES' TITLE.

DEFEAT OF MISS CULLING.

WELLINGTON, Thursday.

The Wellington provincial ladies' golf championship was concluded on tlio Herctaunga links to-day, whon Miss Beadel, of Cliristcliurch, defeated Miss Culling, of Auckland, 3 up and 1 to play. The gallery of about 100 was not treated to a liighclass display, as both players appeared to bo puttering from tlio effects of thoir strenuous games at tbo New Zealand championship tourney at Cliristchurch. In the eemi-flnal Miss Beadel boat Miss McClure, 3 and 2, and Miss Culling beat Miss Chrystall nt tho 10th. Miss McCluro was not playing up to her best, form, her putting being generally weak. In tho gamo between Miss Culling and Miss Chrystall, although it went to the 10th hole, thoro wore no outstanding incidents. In tho fmul Miss Culling won tho first hole, at which Miss Beadel took three putts, but at the short third Miss Beadel drew all square. Miss Culling hooked her teo shot atlhn fotirth into the Hutt River hofe Beadel did the aamo at the next Miss Beadel wan 1 up at. the turn and increased her lead nt. th« 11th and 12th. Miss Culling won tho 14th, but. the next iS° i^M. ro .""d the end came at tho 17th. which Mirs Beadel won in 6 to 6, winning the match and the championship. 3 and 1.
