DANGEROUS ELEPHANT.
ATTACK ON YOUNG MAN.
A DISREGARDED WARNING.
Harry Greatorex, aged 21,-was attacked by an elephant recently at a circus in Melbourne.
Tho elephant, it is said, was known to bo dangerous, and employees of tho circus had boon warned to bo careful when near him. Greatorex, one of tho employees, had stroked tho animal's trunk and patted it before ho moved away a few feet to talk to a friend. Suddenly tho animal swung its head around, and, catching Greatorex in tho abdomen with its tusk, lifted him off his feet, pinner] him against tho side of a motor truck, and held him there for a few seconds before tossing its head »way. . ' Greatorex fell to tho ground, suffering great pain. lie was taken to a hospital.
