JOHN BURNS & CO., LTD., CUSTOMS STREET EAST, AUCKLAND. A GALLERY OF PRIMARY PRODUCERS m ■ y - : * No 3 MrWH Dear Sir, — I give you below my experience in the use of White Island Product for Root Crops. . For Swedes I used 400lb. per acre alone, and on cropping found only slight traces of Brown Rot, not enough to calculate. On another plot 1 put 2cwt. of Super and 2cuit. of Basic Slag, and found- that * 8% of the crop was attacked with Brown Rot. 1 Another plot was treated with' 4ciu£. of a Swede Manure and no less than a quarter of the crop was attacked with Brown Rot. When 200lb. of White Island Product was added to the Super and. Basic Slag I obtained an increase of over 40% in the crop and BROWN ROT WAS REDUCED TO 24%. Thus the evidence points very strongly to White IslandProduct No. i being a suitable application for the control, of BROWN ROT IN SWEDES. Also, where White Island Product had been used, THERE WAS NOT ONE GRASS GRUB TO BE FOUND. In the half of the paddock where no White Island Product teas used TEERE WERE THOUSANDS. YOUR PRODUCT UNDOUBTEDLY ELIMINATES GRASS GRUB. For Carrots we got a larger crop where 400lb. of White Island Product had been used. Yours truly, ' (Sgd.) W. H. Poole. P.O.
