NATIVE LAND COURT.
ALTERATIONS TO BUILDING.
Tenders have been'called by the Public Works Department for extensive alterations to the Native liand Court in ltinily place. The building was formerly occupied by "Tlio Flying Angel" Mission to Seamen. The work involves a fairly complete reconstruction throughout the three floors of tlio building, but it is on the second floor, in which the courtroom is situated, that most of the work will be done. Existing walls are to he removed and much other work will bo necessary for the provision of a spacious courtroom. Tlio officials' and Judge's rooms will be situated 011 tlio first floor, entrance being gained from u lobby at the top of the stairway from the main entrance. The courtroom will be separated by a partition, glazed above a certain height, from a corridor leading from the lobby. The furnishing of the courtioom has received careful consideration. The whole of the front of the building will be thoroughly renovated and treotud to restore its original appearance.
