THE TE AROHA CLUB. NEW COURSE SUGGESTED. luy Ti:r,K(iTi.\rn. —own oorhesponiient.] TE AKOJTA. Tuesday. The annunl meeting of tho 1° Aroha Irottin? Clul> was held last evening. Mr. If. E. D. Wilcox suggested that the time was at hnnd when the club should acquire a course of its own. It was tho club's duly 1o popularise the sport and this aim was not always achieved when trotting horses raced on joclcey club courses, most of which were now at -Jeast :v mile in length. Trotting would be greatly assisted at. To Aroha by the provision of a six furlongs course which wc/uhl encourage trainers to take advantage of tho special attractions of Te Aroha as training hendquarlers. The club had .ti-iOO with which to clinch any deal that might be made. Messrs. Wilcox, Deverell, Kenny and .Tackson were authorised to roport to a special mooting on ways and means of financing the purchase of a trotting course. The following officers were elected:— Patrons.
