EVANGELISATION CRUSADE.
HEART OF AFRICA MISSION. Miss Yerbury, who has recently returned from the heart of Africa, is visiting New Zealand, and taking meetings on behalf of the above crusade. She is leaving Auckland to-day for Carnbridgo and thence on to other towns io Wellington, after which sho proceeds to the South Island until the middle of December. The crusade was founded if. 1913 byMr. C T., Studd, for the purpose of reaching out into the unevangelised parts of the world, the first advance being Jnade into the heart of Africa. Ho was tho first missionary to enter the vast forests of the North Belgian Congo—cannibal country. 3fo has given 16 years of burning service for these cannibal tribes. 13 without a furlough. The result is that the Gospel is preached in 14 largo tribes, including the pigmies. Many churches have been founded, and the New Testament translated into two intertribal languages, which cover the whole region. Mr. Studd was. between 1882 and 1883, a world-famed cricketer and •sportsman, but sport, wealth and position were given up that ho might devote his: life to missionary work, first as one of the Cambridge seven in China, then to India, and now, in bis later years, in Africa, where he still is to-day. He is the brother of Sir Kyn.iston Studd, present Lord Mayor of London. Besides Africa, advances have been made into Amazonia, heart of South America, and also Central Asia.
