NEW MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. j APPRECIATION OF COACHING. The new management committee of tho 'Auckland Cricket Association mot Inst evening, Mr. E. E. Naldcr presiding. > A letter was received from Lord Hawko expressing the hope that the association would find Wensley a worthy successor to Eel/ and Bowley as a coach. Tho headmaster of tho Mount Albert Grammar School advised tliat his school would bo very pleased to enjoy the privileges it hid had in the past in connection with the .engagement of conches. His experience with Bowley and Langridgo had been particularly pleasant and beneficial, and they lia'd not only produced a most noticeable response to their instruction in cricket, but had generally affected the boys' characters for the good.
Tho cricket master of King's College also expressed appreciation of tho services of coaches iri the past, and tho collego would be glad of tho opportunity of availing itself o£ "Wensky's services. ■An invitation was received from the Poverty Hay Association to send a strong team' to Gisborne during the coming seaBon. It was decided that an endeavour bo made during the Christmas-New Year holidays. The New Zealand Cricket Council s offer of a fourth day for the Auckland v. •M.C.C. nntch was accepted. Tbp date for closing of entries for the associations competitions was fixed for Tuesday, October 15. Messrs. J. S. Barrett and W. H. Winsor were're-appointed the associations resident delegates to the New Zealand Council.
The following sub-committee 3 were appointed:—Advertising committee, Messrs. E. C. Beale„ G. Jackson, It. W. Bow. J. If. .Watts, N. Hockin; coach committee, same ns last season, with Mr. P. Shaw substituted for 'vlr. W. J. Smeeton; country committee, Messrs. E. C. Beale, H. Duncan, N. Mar tit, J. H. Miller. W. J. Smeeton. 11. Warnfnrd, P. Shaw, M. Hockin. It was resolved to increaso registration fcc3 for players who havo attained tho isgc of 18 years from 2s Gd to 4s, and for players under 18 years from Is to 2s, the additional revenue to be paid into tho coach fund.'-
For the purpose of appointing a junior committee it was resolved to ask-all senior clubs and .the larger junior club 3 to forward their nominations before Tuesday next. Mr. D. V. Moore was appointed chairman of this committee.
