As a result of tho recent demand of the President, Mr. Hoover, that the flexible provision in tho Tariff Bill should be retained Mr. W. E. Borah today urged in tho Senato that tho President should advise tho House and tho country if he approved of the industrial schedules in the measure.

Mr. Borah said ho askecj Mr. Hoover to tell them if he approved of the duties on cement, pig-iron and other materials which would increase the profits of the steel trust. Ho asked him to tell them whether ho was satisfied with the duties levied under the bill on agricultural products. Would he advise them that he was satisfied that the bill mot the pledges he made in his Presidential campp.iffn ?
