" BIG BILL'S " .NEW CAREER. PART IX AMERICAN COMEDY. Mr. William T. Tilden, at one time probably tho greatest lawn tennis player ever scon, and still, in his late thirties, one of the world's best, will make his first appcaranco on the London stago in tho near future.
Mr. Tilden will appear under the management of Mr. P». A. Meyer in an American comedy, entitled " Thoy All Want Something," by Court nay Savage. Mr.
Tilden appeared in a leading part in this play in New York, where it had a successful run.- Ho will play tho same part in London and will bo supported by an American cast.
After his dramatic defeat of Borolra in tho Davis Cup in Paris, Mr. Tilden rushed across to London to settlo details of this production with Mr. Mover. 110 then left immediately for New York. On fcoveral previous occasions it has been rumoured that Mr. Tilden would appear on the stago in London, anil quite recently a story was current that ho had writton a play which he hoped to produce Mr. Tilden mado his Broadway debut in January, 1926, in " Don Q. Junior." Mr. Tilden is a friend of Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford and her husband, Douglas Fairbanks, and or. several occasions bo haa appeared on tho acroen.
