THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE. DECLINE IN BANK SHARES. Business on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday showed a very definite continunnco of the easier tone apparent recently in bank and insurance shares. Gilt-edge securities, however, remained firm without change. New Zealand Breweries debentures changed hands at 30s 6d, mid-way between the figures of latest sales. More were offered at 30s 9d, buyers 30s.

lii banks the decline in values was most marked. The majority of shares were offered at definitely lower prices than on the previous day. There wero somo outstanding examples. Australians of Commerce were done 6d to 9d easier at 345, and Commercials of Australia 6d cheaper at 29s 6d. Moro were offered at £sl 7s 6d. compared with £sl 15s on Thursday, buyers £SO 15s, compared with Csl ss. Unions of Australia (Melbourne register) changed hands at £l4 16s and £l4 15s, a drop of 2s 6d to 3s 6d on latest New Zealand register sales. At the final call more wero offered at £l4 15s, buyors £l4 10s. Insurance shares, with tlio exception of South British, showed a slightly easier (ono on sellers' figures. In loan and agency the ordinary issue of Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering was done at 90s. In gas the contributing issue of Ancle - lands was done ono penny cheaper at 18s 2d. In the miscellaneous section, Farmers' Tradings eased 2d with a sale at 9s 2d. Now Zealand Farmers' Fertilisers had sale 3d cheaper at 22s 3d. The contributing issue of New Zealand Rofrigeratmgs was again done at 6s 6d, but closed easier than on the previous day. Wilsons Cements sold twice at the current price, 43s 6J. Northern Boots wero i offered at lis, compared with 13s on the previous day. buyers remaining at 7s. In mining Ohinemuris had sale at 9s 3d, 3d easier, and Waihis changed hands twice at the current price, 13s 4d.
