north shore water board. A further stop in tho difference betweon the North Shore Water Board and its engineer, Mr. F. E. Powell, was taken by the board at its meeting yesterday, when a considerable portion of the money claimed, by tho ongineer was passed for payment. The discussion on the matter was taken in committee. ' At tho-annual meeting of the board in 1928 it was mentioned that the sum claimed by 1 the engineer for his services was in tho vicinity of £IOOO, but after a thorough examination which eliminated uny percentage charges for different works the total account covering minor services Was found to total £304. The board at its meeting yesterday agreed to authorise payment of £174, leaving £l3O to be determined by arbitration.
