PRESENTATIONS.
Tho popular manager of the Star Hotel, Mr. R. J. Nightingale, was farewelled by members of the hotel staff at- an informal function last evening, when he was. presented with a solid silver tea service. Mr. Nightingale is relinquishing control of the hotel, which lie has held for over six years. At a riflemen's reunion hold by_the Wanganui Dofence Club Mr. E. S. King, who is shortly to loavo Wanganui to make his homo in Melbourne, was the guest of honour. Ho was presented with a travelling rug by the Mayor, Mr. W. ,T. Rogers. In 1911 Mr. King won tlio North Island rifle championship* and was runner-up in 1926. In 1928 he won the New Zealand championship.
