NEARLY EIGHT FEET CLEARED.
■ A sensation, was caused at the show* ground' at Albuiy recently, says a Sydney newspaper, when Perry Brothers* Hawk, ridden by W, Barton, broke thf Australian high jump record by clear* ing 7ft. 10£ in. The ground has been the scene of pre* vious records by Thumbs Up, and . Sun* down, and held tho title until a riovr record of 7ft. lOjin. was registered al Tenterfield by Mrs. A. A. Laidlaw's Lookout in 1926. By exceeding this height, Perry Brothers gained the £IOO which has been offered the Albury Agricultural Society since 1926 for tli» owner of amy horse breaking the record.
