SLEEPER'S GREAT FALL.
A sleeping, man, who had chosen a stonr couch on top of a buttress at tho Chafing Cross pier, rolled over early ono morning a few weeks ago and fell 20ft. into the Thames." It was low water, and tha man alighted near a schooner on the slimy mud, into which ho sank up to his shoulders. A lifebuoy was thrown to him, and to this he clung until he was removed by Charles Stacev, who, -with others, rowed from the pleasure ateamers moored on the Surrey side of the Thames on hearing cries for help. The. man, aged about 28, waa removed to a hpspital.
