The driver of a motor-coach at Southend was summoned for not wearing his licence badge. lie said the number on the badge, 13, scared people. When they saw it they refused to enter his coach, and if they saw it while on a trip they demanded to be allowed to get off. The number was gradually ruining him. The magistrate dismissed the case and suggested that the authorities should give the unhappy man another number.
