GROWTH OF ORGANISATION

OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COIt RESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Wednesday;

Tho annual meeting of the Franklin agency of tho Auckland Automobile Association was held at Pukekotie last evening. Tho chairman of tho agency, Mr. G. T. Proude, presided. There was an attendance of about 40 members.

The report stated that sinco May last year the membership of the agency had increased from 293 to 547. Extensive sign-posting work had been carried out in the Franklin district.

Tho following committee was elected for -"the ensuing year:—Messrs. Proude, 11. Curd, R. C. Clark, J. Fulton, L. W. Keals, A. J. Maiden, A. B. Ghezzi, H. Knight, W. Bennett, I. G. Wymer, W. Logan and 11. H. D. Wily. It was decided to protest against-the Government's proposal to withhold the annual subsidy of £200,000 to the highways fund.

Addresses on association work wero given by Dr. Lawrie, a member of tho council, and Mr. R. E. Champtaloup, touring manager. It was stated that a patrol would shortly visit tho Franklin district to adjust the lights on members' cars, so as to conform with tho regulations.
