It. is announced that Captain Kingsfoid Smith will shortly go (o America in order to thank Captain G. Hancock, his backer in (iic famous transpacific flight last year. He will not be accompanied by Mr. Ulm, who is returning to Australia for urgent business reasons. .

Captain Kingsford Smith has not definitely abandoned his transatlantic flight plans, but it is 111010 probable that 110 will fly the Southern Cross back to Australia in an attempt to beat his own time. Ho took up a new F9 Fokker, which has three 600 h.p. engines, with a 90ft. wingspan, and carries 18 passengers. He may secure a similar machine for use - in Australia.
