MAIN HIGHWAYS FUND.
DEPUTATION TO PROTEST.
A combinod deputation of tho motoring organisations and local authorities in both the North and South Islands will wait on tho Primo Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, in Wellington, to-morrow, to protest against tho proposal to withhold this year the grant of £200,000 mado annually toward the funds of the Main Highways Board. Mr*. J. N. Masscy, M.P. for Franklin, will bo among tho representatives of the local bodies, while Mr. H. C. Jones, of tho oxccutivo of the Auckland Automobile Association, will also go from Auckland. It is possiblo that Mr. A. Grayson, president of tho association, will bo able to attend.
