COLLIERIES SHUT DOWN.
NEW SOUTH WALES FIELD.
SYDNEY, Sept. 16
The new Greta colliery on the Maitland coalfield is idle because of tho threatened imposition of "the "darg" (a day's work or a fixed amount of work, whether more or less thfliv' a day).
Six other small collieries have censed operations as the result of tho stoppage of the railway services.
