WEDDINGS.
COLES—SPENCER. The wedding was celebrated yesterday afternoon in St. Peter's Anglican Chnrch at Takapnna oF Miss Doris Maud Spencer, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. P. Spencer, of Saunder's Aycnue, Takapuna, to Mr. Thorn aa Pinckard Coles, eldest son of Mrs. Jacomb and the late Mr. H. E. Coles, of London. The service, which was choral, was performed by the Rev. W. G. Monckton. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a frock of cream embossed georgette. The long tight-fitted bodice was finished at the back with a large corded taffeta bow and the skirt, which showed the uneven hem line, was appliqued in chenille. A veil of hand-embroiaerod net was worn and was caught to the head with a silver coronet finished with side sprays of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of orchids. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Phyllis Colman, of Dargaville. Her frock was of daffodil-yellow crepe de chine and polka-dotted net made with a tight-fitting bodice and full skirt. A Swiss hemp straw hat was also worn. Miss Norah Mellsop and Miss Joyce Gould, of Te Kuiti, were also in attendance, wearing frocks of sea-foam and lavender chenille spotted net respectively. They both carried bouquets of sweet peas to tone with their frocks. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Lionel Spencer, Mr. H. K. Spencer and Mr. B. Spencer. A reception was held after the ceremony at the bride's home in -Saunder's Avenue, when Mrs. Spencer received her guests wearing a frock of wine-shaded marocain with a platinum fox fur and black hat with ospreys. The drawing room was arranged with bowls of yellow primroses and brown baskets of violets and ferns. Oni the tables mauvo and pink flowers were arranged in crystal vases. ' Tho wedding took place in the Avondalo Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon of Mr. Henry Lyall Gordon, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Gordon, of Rosebank Road, Avondale, and Miss Dorothy Trigg, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C A Trigg, of Great North Road, Avondalo. The Rev. W. Knowles Kempton performed the ceremony. The bride entered the church on her father's arm wearing a frock of ivory lace over cream silk, the bodice being joined to the skirt with a basque of white satin. The tulle veil was held in place, with a coronet of orange blossoms and fell in graceful folds to the ground. A shower bouquet of spring flowers was carried, the bridesmaid. Miss Dux Mason, wore a frock of powder bluo taffeta with a Vandyke hem of silver lace and a Head-dress of blue tullo. She carried a shower bouquet of pink flowers. Tho bridegroom's brother, Mr. Allan, ably assisted as best man.
