BRITISH EFFICIENCY.
GERMAN WORKERS' INTEREST] VISIT TO THE CLYDESIDE. A delegation of eight of the most important leaders of tho German Shipyard Workers' Union was expected to visit the Clydeside shipyards in the middle of August. The purpose of this German visit, as revealed by Herr Oskar Schultze, nresidont of tho Bremen Chamber of Laoour, who was the leader of tho delegation, represents one of tho most remarkable compliments ever paid to the British shipbuilders by the Gorman industry. "We Gorinans are going to England," Herr Schultze said, "to find out the reason for the superior efficiency of the British shipbuilding yards. Wo want to ascertain what it is that enables British yards to defy German competition, despite the fact that our wages in Germany are lower and that our hours of work are longer. If our employers do not trouble to study tlieio British conditions, and learn from them, we do.
