COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. MEMBERS APPOINTED. British Wireless. RUGBY, Sept. 6. The Secretary of State for the Colonics, Lord Passfield, lias now completed the appointment of the members of the commission to investigate and report upon the state of the sugar industry in the West Indies and British Guiana. The commissioners arc Lord Olivier, whose acceptance of the position of chairman, was announced some time ago, and Mr. 1). M. Scuiplc, with Mr. Sydney Cains, of the Colonial Office, as secretary. The members will leave England on October 5 for Barbadocs, whence they will proceed to tho Leeward Islands, Trinidad, British Guiana, and Jamaica.

Lord Olivier was formerly Governor of Jamaica, and was Secretary for India in (ho Labour Government of 1924.
