AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

AUCKLAND CLUB'S EVENTS. Tho ordinary weekly competitions of tho Auckland Amateur Athletic Club came to a conclusion last Saturday, when n. three miles slccplechose, 75yds sprint, find two field events were held at the Domain. Tho sprint produced a Rood field of twentytwo runners, necessitating two heats nnd a final. The final saw an even start after two bnd breaks, two men going back a yard. J. Crum led the field at tho distance and looked a winner, hut Horan finished with a lot of dash and snatched a close victory right on tho tape. Twenty harriers lined up for tho three miles steeplechase, consisting of five nnd a-half laps of tho inner Domain course, nnd tho ground being in excellent condition a good rare resulted. H. Ball, a recruit to harrier running. won nicely from G. Fish, with A. 11. Eyre a few yards further back third. A. B. Brown was fourth and_ was followed closely by G. Rolls and N. F. Cooper. Following are the results:— 75Yds. Sprint.—First heat: A. Warren, 4!yds. 1; A. Silent, Byds, 2; W. Furlonr, sj.vds, 3. Timo, S 2-ss. Second .heat: J. Crum, 12yds, 1; J. Horan. 12yds. 2: L.
