Gladman (America), 4—6, 6—o. 6—l; Mrs. Wilson (England) defeated Mrs. Harper (America), 11—9, 6—4; Miss Helen Jacobs defeated Mrs. Covell (England), 10—8, 6-2. In the doubles Miss Nuthall and Miss Jacobs defeated Miss Falkenburg and Mrs. Walsh (America), 6—o, 6—o.
At the Newport tournament Austin (England) defeated Hunter (America), 4—6, 6—3, 6—l, B—6; Tilden (America) defeated Bowman (America), 6—l, 6—3, 6—l; Lott (America) defeated Avory (England), 6—3, 6—2, 6—4; Bell (America) defeated Abe (Japan), 6—4, 6—o, 6—3; Van Ryn (America) defeated Mangin (America), 6—o, 6—3, 6—4.
