TE KUITI, Thursday

In regard to overtures made by the Mairoa and Waintangaru settlers for lime and manure for deficient pastures in those areas, Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P.# to-day advised that the Treasury had approved of the general purposes and relief fund being utilised to provide lime and manure for these settlers. The Director-General of Agriculture, Dr. C. J. Reakes, was now working out details of the scheme, which would bo made available later. Mr. Broadfoot also advised that the Minister of Education had-approved of a grant to enable a tender to be accepted for tho conveyance of about 16 children from tho Rangitoto district to the Te Kuiti District High School..
