CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP. 'I 111-: AUCKLAND TEAM. Owing to the Dominion cross-country championship being set down for decision at Dunedin on Saturday next, instead of on September 21, as was reported, some difli. culty is being experienced in financing an Auckland team. However, the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club is making a. call on a number of its old members and supporters, and it is hoped to huvo enough money in hand by this evening to finance n. team of four. On the form displayed of late, and including the raco at Ellerslio last Saturday, J. W. Savidan, N. F. Cooper, G. Kelts. F. L. Witten. S. Andrews, E. P. Henshall, B. C. Barker, C. Scown and J. Crum are tho pick of tho Auckland harriers, and the quartet to go south next Monday evening should be Savidnn, Kells, Cooper and Wiltun, with Andrews fifth man, and Barker, Hcnalmll and Crum next in order. There is a doubt about Cooper being able to obtain tho necessary leave. Savidan and Kells aro available, but Witten ie still undecided.
