AUSTRALIANS IN NEW YORK.

The members of the Australian League team arrived at New York to-day, after a short visit to Toronto and the Niagara Falls. -The visitors made a rapid sightseeing tour before sailing at midnight ou the Aquitania, They visited Coney Island in the morning and were received 111 the afternoon by the Mayor, Mr. James Walker.
They visited a cinema studio, where they made a short talkie, and then were taken to sec a game of baseball.
BILLIARDS IN SYDNEY. LINDRUM LEADS SMITH. Australian and N.Z. P.rcs3 Association. SYDNEY, Aug. 22. At the commencement of play yesterday in the billiards match between Walter Lindruni and Willie Smith tho latter was 2226 points behind his opponent. At the conclusion of the evening session, however, he had reduced the deficiency to 643. Lindrum has scored 16,865, with breaks of 798, 478, 473, 426; and Smith 16,222, with breaks of 561, 637, 481 and 645.
