Vincent last evening:— Temporary fair to fine weather is indicated, conditions becoming cloudy to overcast, followed by heavy showers in places near tho west coast, and accompanied by hail and thunder at times in those areas. Further heavy rain, with Hooded rivers, is expected in tho West Coast districts of tho South Island. Cold temperatures, with snow on the southern highlands. Southerly to south-westerly winds, strong to gale, and squally. Rough to heavy seas on the west coast. Tho cyclonic disturbance, tho centre of which has now passed eastward, is still the dominating weather factor over the Dominion, a secondary depression having formed at' the rear of tho primary dopressioii. 'I he Government meteorologist, reported last evening as follows:—Tho cyclono is now centred north of t hatham Island, while tho one which formed yesterday on the New South Wales coast, is advancing slowly eastward. Indications aro for south-east, to southerly winds, modorato to strong seas. Moderato on the west coast of the South Island; elsewhere rather rough to rough, with a high swell on the east- coast. Modorato to southerly winds in the eastern 'lasman Sea, backing gradually to east and north-east. Seas moderate. Weather still dull, cold and showery, especially in districts with an easterly aspect.
