CITY COUNCIL'S CHARGE.

An application for reconsideration of a request for use of the Avondalo lesser Town Hall on Saturday evenings was received by tho Auckland City Council last evening. The Parks Committeo recommended that permission to rent the hall and piano for 15s a night should bo declined. ,

' A speaker said that after functions had boon held in the hall it was found that " 15s would not pay for repairs to tho Noah's Ark piano." Mr. T. Blood worth said that the instrument was 2Q years old and he doubted whether after such n period of servico in dance music sessions damage could bo inflicted 011 it. There had been no suggestion that the entertainments had not uefn properly conducted. It was resolved again to decline the application.
