NEW SOUTH WALES STATE. DROUGHT BELIEVED BROKEN. (Received August 11. 5.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 11. Heavy rain has fallen over a large area of country in New' South Wales except in the north-west. Moderate falls in the wheat belt have raised hopes of goods crops. The State meteorologist forecasts further rain except in the far north-west, where the condition of scattered settlers is pitiable. The rainfall has been much below their needs for the past 10 years and almost no rain has fallen for many months.

Reports'from towns in the western districts state that beneficial rains have fallen and are continuing. It, is believed that the drought has been broken.
