COMMERCIAL LIBRARIES.
WELLINGTON PROPOSAL.
- Some weeks ago the Wellington Chamber of Commerce suggested that an up-to-date commercial library should be established in Wellington, and arrangements have now been made for a meeting of those interested in the proposal to be held on August 20. The city librarian, Mr. Norrie, is co operating with the chamber and lias issued a circular to the commercial organisations in the city, pointing out that public commercial libraries have been established by the municipalities of a number of leading English and Scottish cities. It is desired to ascertain what demand there is for such a library in Wellington and what measure of support would be forthcoming toward its establishment from the various commercial and allied organisations.
