BOY TACKLES BURGLAR.
FELLED WITH IRON BAR.
After tackling a burglar single-handed at the Actors' Orphanage, Langley, Buckinghamshire. Roy Arthur Browne, a six-teen-year-old orphan, lies injured in the school sanatorium. _ Awakened during the night by noises from downstairs,, the boy got out of bed, went to the dining room, and saw a man there. He sprang at the man and got in (ho first blow. The burglar then aimed a blow at the boy with ail iron bar, but Roy, who is ono of the school s best boxers, ducked, and while the man was recovering, struck him with his right to the jaw, staggering him. As ho followed up, he was hit on the arm with the iron bar and fell to tho ground. The man then rushed through the open door, but the bravo boy crawled across the room and pulled the cord of the alarm bell to awaken the staff. The police were called, and a thorough search of the grounds and orphanage was made. But the burglar had got away. Thanks to the lad's pluck, a cricket challenge cup, worth £l5O, and other yaluablo .articles were left intact*
