The Piako County Council proposes to levy tho following schedule ot rates for the financial year ending March 31. 1930: —Walton. Waito and Wailion Ridings. 1 7-8 din the pound; Kiwitab' Morrins ville, Te Aroha and Manawaru Ridings, 2d in the pound; Tahuna Riding. 2jd in the pound. There is also a separate hospital rate of 3-0 d in the pound over the wholo of the county. The council also acts as a drainage board in respect of the following areas, for which tho rating schedule is as follows:—Manawaru area, A class land, 2d in tho pound; B class land, 1 l-3d; C class land, 2-3 d; Piakoiti area, 2J>d and ljd; Shaftesbury area, ljjd and £d.
